Mehdi Hosseini is a composer and musicologist. Hosseini received Doctor of Music degree (DMA) in Composition from Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Musicology at the St. Petersburg Conservatory under the supervision of Prof. Tatiana Bershadskaya.
His major teachers in composition include Farhad Fakhreddini, Prof. Alexander Minatsakanian, Prof. Nigel Osborne and Prof. Sergei Slonimsky.
Currently, he is president at the Saint-Petersburg Contemporary Music Center "reMusik.org".
